This entry's song: Free Radicals (The Flaming Lips, At War With The Mystics).

Well, well, well. . . We meet again. It's been nearly a year this time, far too long to be certain. However, in my defense I have a totally valid excuse. Here's the condensed story:

I purchased the server space and domain name for this site from a unbelievably sheisty company called webhostingboy.com, only I was completely unaware of said sheistiness at the time of my purchase. So, of course, this company goes out of business and the owner (who goes by the name of Adheel Shaikh - if this is libel or slander then sue me. This guy's name should be posted all over the internet, synonymous with "sheisty"), instead of returning ownership of all the domain names to his customers, decides to retain them for himself. He also decides to forgo responding to all of my email and phone requests regarding micksluck.com. So for a year, until the domain names expire and need to be re-registered, he does absolutely nothing with them except withhold them from people like me. What a total douche bag.

So now the domain name has finally expired and micksluck.com is once again online as it once was. Coming back to the site after a year, it's clear to me that my views have shifted, and I'm thus in the process of going back through the site and changing some things that no longer ring true for me. Or perhaps it's best said that I'm going back hoping to make things ring a bit truer.

Regardless, a few aspects of the site will be running a bit funkily until I get things sorted out. The guest book and much of the music on the site will be down for a while (I'm thinking of just trashing the guest book anyway - all the old entries were lost along with the domain name to Mr. Crappy McCraps Shaikh), and some other parts might be as well. So bear with me through the reconstruction and modification.

All that said, I'm glad that the site is back online. I'm feeling a bit tired and in a non-writing mood right now, so I'm going to refrain from talking about much else. But I think I would like to start posting regularly again, so hopefully I'll get something new up soon.

Thanks for coming back!

P.S. What's the lesson learned from my digital mishap? Don't ever take part in anything that has to do with webhostingboy.com or Adheel Shaikh.
